ESCANABA — Two Escanaba men remained lodged in Delta County Jail this morning after being arraigned Thursday on charges of breaking into an Escanaba pasty shop.
Bill Curtice, 29, and Daniel Pepin, 27, were arrested after they allegedly broke into Dobber’s Pasties, 827 N. Lincoln Road, and stole “a large quantity of money,” said Capt. Al O’Dell of Escanaba Public Safety. The exact amount of money taken from the building is still under investigation.
Officers responded to the break-in when an alarm system sounded at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, O’Dell said. The suspects allegedly broke a window to gain entry into the building, he said.
“Upon our investigation, we came up with a couple suspects, ended up arresting them, and lodged them,” O’Dell said Thursday. Investigation continues into the possibility of another suspect in the case, he added.
Curtice was officially charged in Delta County District Court with breaking and entering a building, a 10-year felony. His bond was set at $20,000. Pepin also was officially charged with breaking and entering. His bond was set at $10,000, according to court officials.
Their preliminary examinations in district court have been set for Thursday.
